Collection: Solidarity - Watermelon Chilkat Face Stained Glass Art Raffle

Valued at over $600 - this is a one-of-a-kind pieces of hand cut, painted, framed, and polished stained-glass art. No two pieces of glass are exactly alike. Each piece of glass was carefully selected and has its own swirls, bubbles, and patterns that enhance the over all design. Combining one of the most recognizable elements in Chilkat blankets, the humanistic face, with the watermelon imagery connected to the Palestinian flag, these pieces are meant to represent the solidarity between Indigenous people of the Northwest Coast and Palestine.

Juanita Ens: After spending 5 years apprenticing with a mentor from 2006-2011, Juanita took a hiatus from the art market to raise her twins born in 2009. In the years since Juanita has learned a variety of new skills and is embracing new mediums. A passion for colour and exploration led her to stained glass. Around since the 7th century, stained glass is an artform itself and a new and innovative medium for Haida artistic expression.

Dimensions are 11 1/4 inches by 8 1/4 inches.

Hanging and care: Included with this piece are two lengths of chain for hanging and a microfiber cloth for cleaning Stained-glass pieces larger than 3" x 3” should be hung on vertical lengths of chain from anchored hooks. To maintain your stained-glass piece, simply wipe with a microfiber or soft cotton cloth. If needed, water and a mild dish soap, such as Dawn, can be used to wash it. Make sure to gently dry it off immediately after washing to prevent water spots. Abrasive materials or cleaning products, vinegar, ammonia (e.g Windex,) or any acid-based cleaners are not recommended as they can affect the integrity of the piece.
